Two Indian students killed in US road crash, Indian Consulate mourns loss


The Consulate General of India in New York has expressed “deep sadness” over the tragic deaths of two Indian students at Cleveland State University. In a statement on X, the consulate extended condolences to the families and assured support during this difficult time.

“Deeply saddened to learn about the unfortunate road accident in which two Indian students from Cleveland State University, Manav Patel and Saurav Prabhakar, lost their lives,” the Consulate posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“Our thoughts and prayers are with their families during this difficult time. The Consulate is in touch with the families and has assured them of all possible assistance.”

Two Indian students at Cleveland State University, Manav Patel (20) and Saurav Prabhakar (23), tragically died in a road accident on Saturday.

According to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, Saurav Prabhakar was driving himself and passenger Manav Patel when the crash happened around 7 a.m. near mile marker 286 in East Cocalico Township.

A vehicle drove off the highway near a bridge, killing two people and seriously injuring another, state police said. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
